When to replace your tires
Tires are manufactured with "wear bars." The bar becomes exposed when there is less than 1.6 mm of tread depth remaining on your tire. Tires must be replaced when the wear bar is visible.
You could also try the “Bluenose” test; place a ten cent coin in the tire’s groove with Bluenose’s sails facing down (Upside down) – if you can see the top of the sails, then the tire needs replacing.
How often to replace your tires
Even with proper tire maintenance, your tires will eventually wear out. A number of variables can affect their life. These variables include average driving speed, weather, and the type of roads you drive on. Consult your tire technician for more specific information on when to replace your tires.
